Zopa

UK digital bank

Zopa began in 2005 as the first peer-to-peer lending company and launched Zopa Bank in 2020, building it around a deliberately inverted premise: identify what customers dislike about finance and do the opposite. That framing is unusually concrete for a bank, since it starts from complaints rather than from products. The company has been recognised with industry awards and named among the UK's three most loved workplaces. It values face-to-face collaboration alongside genuine work-life balance, and staff can work from abroad for up to 120 days a year.
