Wefunder has helped thousands of founders across every US state secure more than a billion dollars, and their companies run from ostrich farms to Substack, Replit and Mercury. It is set up as a Public Benefit Corporation with a mission of keeping the American dream alive, rooted in the view that the country is full of untapped talent and that more founders getting started leads to a better future. The next goal is 20,000 more founders. Wefunder is headquartered in San Francisco, with one office in the Mission and another in Seacliff, and keeps a deliberately small in-person team of about 30. Four times, the whole team has crossed the country together by Amtrak.
