API connecting software to smart locks and devices
seam.co (opens in a new tab)Seam builds infrastructure that lets software control devices in physical buildings. Property software companies make a single integration with Seam and gain access to any supported smart lock, thermostat or sensor, instead of building a separate connection for each manufacturer, and Seam also supplies prebuilt interface flows for linking and managing those devices inside their own apps. Its customers run software for hotels, short-term rentals, apartment buildings, commercial offices, gyms and co-working spaces, where the connections handle tasks such as unlocking doors, adjusting climate and monitoring a property remotely. Because the product is embedded and white-labelled, guests and tenants often use it without knowing, for example when entering an Airbnb with a pin code.
