Rex runs finance operations for large companies with AI agents, beginning with order to cash. A customer hands over a process such as collections or cash application, and Rex's agents carry it out across email, ERPs and customer payment portals while finance specialists supervise. The agents work through messy ledger data, clear payment blockers, handle exceptions and learn from expert corrections, with the aim of earning enough trust to act on real money autonomously. Merlin Kafka and Lewis Blackwood founded the company in 2026 after building finance and AI products together at Sequence, and it operates from both San Francisco and London.
