Programmable neural processor IP for edge AI
quadric.ai (opens in a new tab)Chipmakers license Quadric's Chimera GPNPU, a neural processor built for general-purpose use that handles both conventional C++ DSP code and neural-network inference on one programmable core, and build it into their own system-on-chip designs. The resulting silicon ends up in devices at the edge: cars, industrial machines, robots and other embedded systems. Quadric's larger aim is a supercomputer fit for the real-time demands of edge hardware, giving developers in any industry a single architecture to program. The company was founded in 2016 by MIT and Carnegie Mellon alumni who had previously co-founded 21, a bitcoin computing company, on the technical side, and it is headquartered in downtown Burlingame.
