Caregiver health training programs in South Asia
noorahealth.org (opens in a new tab)Noora Health improves patient outcomes by teaching family members how to care for loved ones during and after a hospital stay. Since 2014 it has used the time families spend in hospital corridors and waiting areas for hands-on teaching through its Care Companion Program. Partnering with governments and other organisations in Bangladesh, India, Indonesia and Nepal, it has trained over 58 million patients and caregivers in more than 16,300 health facilities. In one patient cohort, the program cut post-surgical cardiac complications by 71% and newborn deaths by 18%. After discharge, its Mobile Care Companion serves about 50,000 people a day through interactive messaging, clinical triage, coordination of care and AI features. Noora Health is an Audacious Project grantee, received the Skoll Award for Social Innovation and has partnered with the World Health Organization.
