Foundation models for manufacturable hardware design
morpho.ai (opens in a new tab)MorphoAI builds foundation models for hardware engineering that generate designs ready for manufacturing. The models are meant for mechanical engineers working across robotics, aerospace, data center equipment, power systems and other physical products, helping them produce more designs. The technology draws on more than 40 research papers the team wrote at MIT and Harvard, covering differentiable simulation, generative AI for design and co-design optimization. Co-founder Ayna has started two hardware companies before, and co-founder Andrew Spielberg teaches electrical engineering and robotics as a Carnegie Mellon professor. The nine-person team, which doubled in size this year, includes two MIT PhDs, serial founders and engineers who deployed hardware at Amazon Robotics.
