minted.com (opens in a new tab)Minted lets consumers discover, customise and purchase from an extensive assortment of products designed by independent artists worldwide, running a customer journey that has to serve two constituencies at once — the artist community whose work is the inventory, and the e-commerce shopper who wants selection and speed. Those interests do not automatically align, which is what makes the marketplace design the actual product. The company is currently maturing a newly integrated product information management platform to give it structured, machine-readable data about its catalogue and the experiences that depends on.
