A harness routes wiring through a robot, vehicle or other machine, and producing one has stayed a largely manual job, which is why so much of the work moved abroad and why lead times run long. Automating that process lets Loombotic turn around a custom harness in roughly a week, against six to twelve weeks elsewhere. Its customers build robots, aerospace systems and advanced thermal and data-center equipment and need cables in days.
