Embedded accounting for SMB software

Layer builds accounting software and bookkeeping that lives inside the tools small businesses already use every day. Over the past decade an ecosystem of SMB software has emerged covering everything from payments to payroll, but accounting has lagged, leaving owners with disconnected generic software and expensive bookkeepers. Embedding accounting where the transactions already happen removes the reconciliation step entirely, which is where most small business bookkeeping actually goes wrong. Its platform lets software companies offer that capability to their own customers.
