Graphite builds consumer-quality tooling for software engineering teams, centred on code review organised around small, incremental pull requests. Engineers stack changes and stay unblocked rather than waiting on large reviews, and an individual can adopt it without their coworkers switching tools, since changes and reviews sync back to the existing repository. It exists because its founders missed the internal review systems at Facebook and Google — Phabricator and Critique — and found nothing equivalent available outside those companies. The company's premise is that craft emerges through collaboration rather than in spite of it.
