Eastern Communications keeps critical communications systems running for public safety agencies, transportation operators, utilities and the federal government. It supplies the infrastructure, technical services, field replacement parts and maintenance those organisations rely on, working out of a network of service centers. The company dates to 1976 and is headquartered in Long Island City, Queens, and it passed out of its original owners' hands in 2020. Its February 2023 purchase of RACOM Corporation, an Iowa business, made it one of the largest mission-critical communications companies operating nationwide in the United States.
