David Energy is building a different kind of power company, arguing that traditional retail electricity providers are outdated, opaque and unpleasant to deal with. It monitors customers' energy use in real time, then aggregates and analyses that data to extract more value from the assets they already own: batteries, electric vehicles, HVAC systems and other distributed energy resources, by bidding their flexibility into energy markets. Running the grid on clean energy around the clock is the goal that shapes the model. Delivering it means field operations, hardware implementation, enrollment, billing and support all have to work as one system.
