CompScience

Computer vision for workplace safety

CompScience uses computer vision and machine learning to prevent workplace injuries, working toward a target of one million injuries avoided. Its perception-based risk assessment programme was the first of its kind and produces a more comprehensive data stream for risk analysis and monitoring than was previously available, with demonstrated reductions in accidents among some of the most hazardous occupations. The company pairs that technical work with an insurance team of workers' compensation specialists, so the analytics translate into actual insurance products rather than stopping at a dashboard. It reaches customers through brokers and agencies, working alongside underwriters.
