Column

Nationally chartered developer bank

Column addresses the biggest bottleneck facing companies building financial technology: the banks and infrastructure underneath them. Its founders spent their careers at Plaid, Square, Meta, Blend and Affirm, watching builders partner with traditional banks and construct API layers over the patchwork of a bank, its core and numerous vendors — producing a complex and expensive banking supply chain running through a user, a fintech, a banking-as-a-service middleware layer and finally the bank itself. Column removes those intermediary layers by being the bank and the developer platform together.
