Bedrock Ocean Exploration

Autonomous high-resolution seafloor mapping

Bedrock Ocean Exploration surveys the ocean floor with autonomous underwater vehicles and builds the vehicles and supporting systems needed to map it at scale. Its surveys capture multibeam and sidescan sonar, magnetometer and sub-bottom profiler data at some of the highest resolutions available anywhere. Alongside its own field tests, Bedrock runs commercial survey operations and delivers the results to clients as data products. It also works with governments in several countries on how accuracy and uncertainty should be defined for ocean data, shaping the standards, policy and guidance the field follows.
