Dollar clearing bank for international fintechs
augustus.com (opens in a new tab)Augustus is building a bank aimed at international fintechs and non-US banks that need access to the dollar. Those institutions currently choose between legacy clearing banks that are slow and unreliable, or middleware providers that never hold the dollars directly and depend on the same legacy rails underneath. Augustus collapses that stack by pairing a national bank charter, in organisation, with Marble, its own core banking system built as code rather than assembled from vendor components. It is regulated in Europe and live today with euro and stablecoin clearing, and is now building a US team while continuing to grow the European business.
