AI-native legal services delivery
august.law (opens in a new tab)August is building what it calls the autopilot for legal services, on the view that legal work is still done as it was a century ago — manually, in six-minute increments, with layers of review billed at hundreds of dollars an hour. Its bet is that within five years more than 80% of legal work will pass through a model before reaching a human, and that the consequence is not faster lawyers but a different way legal services get bought altogether. The company targets services spend rather than software spend, helping both firms and in-house teams restructure delivery around AI.
