Apex manufactures satellite buses — the platforms that carry customer payloads and fly on launch vehicles — using software and vertical integration to produce them at scale. Spacecraft are now the most pressing unmet need in aerospace: as launch vehicles proliferate and the cost to orbit falls, more companies want to put payloads in space, and for the first time that combination has created serious demand for commercial buses. The constraint has shifted from getting to orbit to having something to fly, which is the gap Apex is built to close.
